Just finish season one and loved it!!!
This podcast is fantastic. Not a long listen, I finished S1 in a work day, but the vibes are immaculate and the story is well thought out and creative. I had a lot of fun listening and am excited to head into season 2. (Also as a grad student, how Dr. Hel talks about working at The Enclosure and how The Enclosure acts toward him and Wichton really feels like just regular academia which I enjoyed even if it wasn’t intentional)

    Feels new and nostalgic
An American/midwestern gothic dream. Really captured the feel of living in a town that has a general “if you saw it no you didn’t” respect for the supernatural. The beginning episodes especially have the vibe of early classic audio dramas, but with a shiny new plot and premise.

This is spooky, fun, mysterious entertainment. I love the premise, and the protagonist is played to perfection by Casper Oliver. Told in audio diary, confessional style, the story unfolds in a way that keeps you coming back for more.

Very good writing and intriguing story!
When I started re-listening to podcasts in 2020, I'd never have guessed I would be finding a new favorite as well. I appreciate the quality voice acting, as well as the cleanly edited audio, and it really helps the characters come through more prominently. The writing reels you in as you listen, and then suddenly you've fallen head over heels for this story and the world it takes place in! I lost my whole mind at the finale of season one, and I'm patiently waiting for the second season to come out in April. In my opinion, this podcast deserves more attention than it has gotten so far, and I hope it gets the admiration from the podcast community that it deserves!

    So good!
If you like monsters and the Midwest gothic aesthetic then boy do I have a podcast for you! Jar of Rebuke is a fascinating podcast concerning the audio logs of Dr Jared Hel, a cryptozoologist with an... interesting relationship with death. He’s canonically non binary and ace, in fact there is so much queer representation on this show, both in the characters and on the cast, and that’s really incredible to hear! Also including: Not-Deer, spooky pseudo government agencies, and really big friendly hellhounds!

    Very good podcast
Oh man I am so excited to find out more about this story. Jar of Rebuke is incredible, with a great cast of characters and a captivating plot. Easily my favorite aspect of JoR is Jared’s backstory—we know pretty much nothing about it, I’m looking forward to finding out more. I’ve noticed a few things that really get my attention, and I have a lot of respect for Casper Oliver (and the rest of the cast) for putting so much detail into their podcast. Good job! Excited for the next episodes.

Jar of Rebuke? More like Jar of Quality Horror Podcasting!
I first heard about this podcast on Tumblr, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a listen! Certain aspects of the show remind me of Welcome to Night Vale and Unwell, but it brings its own twist to Midwestern Gothic horror. The creatures and spirits are just the right mix of creepy and intriguing (I’m saying it now: the river monster’s voice is sexy 👌), and the LGBTQ rep is excellent (nonbinary characters? We love to see them). There are plenty of mysteries that have yet to be revealed, and each episode raises as many questions as it answers—I’m invested! Jared must be protected at all costs, and I would die for him. 🖤 My only complaint at this point is that I wish there were more episodes! But I shall be patient and wait for updates. ☺️ If you’re looking for something to fill the TMA-shaped hole in your heart during the current hiatus, I highly recommend this podcast!

    Already Hooked
"Jar of Rebuke" is already starting out strong just a few episodes in. I'm deeply intrigued and eagerly awaiting more, one of the best narrative podcasts I've listened to in quite some time.

Spooky queer podcast with a midwestern twist
This podcast is everything I never knew I needed. It reminds me of early Tanis mixed with the acting chops of Welcome to Nightvale... but still very much its own thing. It’s only been 3 episodes and I AM HOOKED. I want to know more about the creatures, find out what memories are repressed, and see how long it takes before Jared notices they’re being flirted with lol Give it a try if you like spooky things with great acting & audio, especially if you appreciate queer representation that feels natural for once.
