This podcast is made for True Crime & Justice Junkies.We go through the court documents, analyze the evidence, watch the trials, break everything down, research it, talk to the experts, and then present it all as a compelling story from start to finish.Season 1: Mainstream media only gives you bits and pieces of the story, but 13th Juror gives it all. Each story takes a current or recent case that has made headlines, and we give insight into the victim, the crime, and the pursuit of justice. Some stories will be told start to finish in one episode, others dive a little deeper and will be presented in a short series.Season 2: "Conspiracy in Canton" Episodes include a deep dive into the controversial case of Karen Read- a woman arrested and charged with the murder of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe in January 2022. The prosecution says she hit John with her car and left him to die in the cold, however Karen's attorneys are alleging there's a coverup involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Every new piece of information brings new questions, and nothing is what it seems. The controversy stretches outward to law enforcement, officials, even the reporters covering the case, and each side accuses the other of a conspiracy. Inaccurate reporting

I listened to yesterday’s podcast and Karen Read info was told in half truths and twisted words. It’s one thing to tell your opinion but another when you state something was said but twist it or leave out information. For the record I was not guilty for the first trial but this time guilty of 2nd degree manslaughter which I’m open to change once as the trial moves along.

Attention to detail is top notch!

I first heard of the Karen Reid trial two weeks into her first trial last year. I started looking up details and somehow found Brandy and this podcast and went back and listened to find out the full story. Brandi‘s attention to detail, her notetaking and recall and putting together the timeline is like nothing else I’ve ever seen. I definitely think she missed her calling as a detective. She is clear and concise with her information and she reports in a way that is easy to follow and does not hyperbole or embellish like some other podcasts. I have enjoyed this podcast so much that I refer everyone. I talked to about the Karen Reid trial to catch up and stay up-to-date with her podcast and also follow the trial on her feed with Crime Junkie Jury. Brandi is the best!

Best coverage without bias

Karen Read trial coverage I look forward to listening to because I know it isn’t slanted one way or the other. The host will call out errors on both sides of the aisle when necessary. Can’t say the same for other podcasts that are covering this case, so I appreciate the work that she puts into presenting the facts as they are!

Not neutral reporting

It’s a shame I started to listen to this podcast, thinking it is so informative until the narrator started leaning towards the defense and pointing things out in a negative manner towards the prosecution and in a positive manner towards the defense. This is not neutral reporting, something I was looking for. I was very disappointed.

Dry well presented

This podcast is a breath of fresh air, especially compared to true crime shows that make light of the tragedies that people go through and those who perpetrate those crimes. My one irritation with this podcast comes from the fact that the episodes are not dated, they are numbered with episode numbers only, and they are the only podcast I have encountered which is listed in forward time sequence, meaning the earliest podcast is the first one you see, and the most recent podcast is all the way down at the end. It’s a small thing but it’s opposite the way. I have found every other audio podcast. This is definitely worth a listen and should become one of your regular shows .

I love how this podcast is super straightforward. It’s easy to listen to and absorb while doing chores/busy work. It’s similar to Court Junkie in that regard. Great show!

If you prefer Brennan’s egregious violations which Bev allows in court -clearly making a mockery of taxpayers hard-earned funds- then this podcast isn’t for you. If you appreciate critical thinking and motions filed properly supported with facts and not deception, then you’ll appreciate the truth from this podcast, which doesn’t assume that you, in the potential jury pool, has all the intelligence of a rubber eraser. This podcast dishes out the truth supported in facts which are checked revealing the sources of how / when…no secret handshakes. The latter is left at the fifth grade lunch tables most of us left long ago….as it should be.

Brandi keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire episode. I’m always wanting more to the point of me going back and listening to the episode again. This podcast has it all. Just listened to Black Swan series. Wow! So much more info than reported anywhere else. The analysis is even better. So thoughtfully argued and backed up with facts & evidence used in court (that is played for listeners to evaluate for themselves. It’s like both being on the Jury AND being at law school. Exceptional, detailed reporting

From the moment I started listening to the events of the Karen Read trial on this podcast I was hooked. The objective, factual analysis of every detail is incredible. The questions she asks and the way she analyses every action and detail is incredible. She should be a detective! I started listening to Brandi after I heard of her contribution to the Murdaugh Murders Podcast. Her analysis of the timeline was actually entered into evidence during the trial - it was that good. Each week I eagerly await the next episode. Keep doing what you’re doing Brandi! Ignore all the noise and focus on what you do best…you have a large fan base supporting you!

Exceptional Detail and Objectiveness

I highly recommend this podcast. Brandi does an excellent job trying to be objective but also not get tunnel vision on a side. She did a great job on Black Swan and Karen Read. What she has exposed and shared on Canton is mind blowing and disturbing/disappointing for law enforcement and the town. I hope the truth will eventually prevail whatever “side” is correct.

I love the timelines and digging Brandi does. But really too much turtle boy. The whole group involved here just distorts my faith in humanity. Both sides showed horrible behavior and judgement.

Don’t Judge A Pod By It’s Title

Was hesitant to listen due to the title—I really just wanted a rerun of the timeline and what evidence was ACTUALLY collected or not. This was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the “just the facts ma’am” coverage Brandi—the best overview of this case I’ve seen or heard to date. 10/10.
